Gretchen Calder

My name is Gretchen Calder. I was born and raised in Burbank, CA. I began writing songs at the mere age of 5. After creating a pop/rock band in middle school, I decided I wanted to learn how to produce. My father set me up in our upstairs "office" and I began learning.

I spent almost every night learning how to navigate Abelton Live. I would search up new ideas and plugins etc. After creating an endless folder of songs, I decided that this was my passion. I craved for school to be over so I could run upstairs and discover new sounds. I then started applying to colleges and ended up choosing San Diego State University. Currently, I am going into my last year as a Music Recording and Technology major. I have grown immensely in my songwriting, recording and production skills over the past few years. During this time I have discovered that my true niche within the music industry is songwriting and production. I spend every waking moment writing lyrics. Turning them into art that can change people's lives is my purpose.
